Our Mission: Preservation and Publication
Founded in 1968, the John Timon Reily Historical Society's mission is to preserve the past for future generations. Its Research Library in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania and its extensive collection of local history publications are part of that important mission.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Although no matters of historical interest shall be foreign to this Society, its objects shall be the discovery, collection, preservation and publication of the history, historical records, and data of and relative to the parishes, institutions, societies, offices, clergy and laity of the Roman Catholic Church, with particular reference to those of the Conewago Valley; the collection and preservation of books, newspapers, maps, genealogies, portraits, paintings, relics, engravings, manuscripts, letters, journals, and any and all materials which may establish or illustrate such history; the marking and preservation of buildings and sites of historical importance; and the acquisition by donation, purchase,or loan, of tools, appliances, and objects of antiquarian interest
